Immunization - Tetanus

Tetanus is an infection caused by bacteria found in dirt, gravel and rusty metal which enters the body through a cut/wound. The bacteria travels through nerves resulting into severe contraction of muscles. The muscles go into continuous state of spasm and when it affects jaw, patient is unable to open the mouth. Death in tetanus is usually caused due to involvement of respiratory muscles.
